Carla Foulds-NCert (Animal Behaviour) CertN.E.B.S,V.N
Practice Manager/Pet Behaviour Counsellor
Carla joined the practice in 1990 and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse (with credit) in 1993. In 1995 she moved into the position of Practice Manager and subsequently studied for and gained her NEBS certificate in Management. Carla has the unenviable task of ensuring the smooth running of all areas of the practice. As a long served member of the practice, both in nursing and management roles, she has acquired an in-depth knowledge of the requirements needed to maintain a professional and efficient team.
In 2011 Carla gained her certificate in Animal Behaviour via the European School of Postgraduate Veterinary Studies. Following this, she set up the first ”Behavioural Clinic” within the practice. To expand her knowledge further, she has since completed a dog training instructor’s course via the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and assists in local puppy training classes on a weekly basis. She is a member of the British Veterinary Behaviour Association, and regularly attends continuing personal development courses to remain up to date with the latest advances in behavioural medicine.
Having first hand experience of owning a dog with long term anxiety problems, Carla is able to empathise with clients who are experiencing behavioural difficulties with their pets and the far reaching effects this can have on day to day life.
Outside of work Carla enjoys spending time with her many pets, including her two dogs. A keen photographer and artist, she also enjoys capturing wildlife both in photographs, and on canvas, when time allows.
